Opinions on the bracelet please? Egyptian themed, but the star and crescent mark looks Turkish and the scarabs look Neiger.

And does anyone recognise the design of the round heraldic brooch? Or origin of the ring?

Looks like French champlevé, ca 1900. Love it.

What is a champlevé? I can't find a suitable translation.

Champlevé is an enameling technique in which the enamel is applied in the cavities between 'raised fields' of metal, in french champs levés.

It is different from cloisonné, in which wires are applied to the metal to hold the enamel.

Ooh, I’ve got that bracelet so interested to know about it. What are the stones in the ring?

I'd have wondered about Tara Ware; they do champleve too and the piece looks heraldic.

Tara ware is much more recent, and it has Celtic motifs, which this isn't. The colours are different too, Tara has a very distinct colour palette.

That was the second thought. It looks like gold radiator paint on the back.

I once had a bracelet similar to that. Never knew who made it but guessed it was from the '20s and the opening of Tut's tomb.

French enamel makes sense, they do love their blues, as in Limoges. The back isn't painted, but it's bright!

I've a couple of these Egyptian revival bracelets, they follow me. This one has a mark, though, the others don't. That etsy one has identical cabs. Czech glass did get all over.

The stones in the ring are drilled beads. Carnelian and onyx I'd say.

The smaller bead looks like goldstone, a type of aventurine glass.

Thank you AJ. All I've got to do is recall it next time I see or hear the word. Soething that is getting harder by the week.
