I think so. Could even be factory art.

I think not a factory piece as there is a sticker from a local gallery and framing company. So maybe an artist from the region.
By the way, am I reading the name ride, Mike? Or it could say something else? Then, the edge of the canvas is signed with Mat 37?

 

Hmmmmmm.....can we do a "Rorschach" test? I see a very large headed bird in a striped hoodie facing right....blood on forehead, minimal mark for eye, small blue beak.....with his rather small "dukes" up ready to fight!!!! Anyone else????

However, art's beauty IS in the eye of the beholder!! Looks very modern to me....

 

I think it says Mike and that the edge is his initials.

I "see" a landscape - volcano erupting with wind blowing the fire-y top to the left, lava flowing down the center through a snowfield or glacier. Maybe that's because I watched the Nova episode about the origins of North America last night!

I am not seeing anything but I guess my imagination is not working quite well.
Make sense, MAT to be Mike's initials. I guess what looks like "73" is not the year as the painting appears recently made.
