Abstract Stone Statue - Where from?

    I found this at a local yard sale. It's made of some kind of stone.
    Any ideas where this is from? African (by the wide nose)? Wherever it is -she looks sad.
    And it looks & feels like stone, except the hair looks like it was done on a clay figure (last photo)?
    It is small - 8" x 5" or so
    It looks like there is some name or letters in close up photo - can anyone make them out?
    As always I appreciate your help!

    AA ART STATUE ABSTRACT STONE 6AAzazx.JPG WOW! That is an incredibly sad rendition of someone's interpretation!!!! I'm not sure where you mean there might be writing unless you mean the very last image, and that would be on her left "knee"??? It does look like something is there, but nothing I can interpret.....might be able to bring it out a bit though.......it looks like numbers I think, more than anything......just not sure.....I had it up at 200%
