I found this yesterday at a friend's thrift store; I saw it coming off the truck & the colors caught my eye immediately! I think it's printed but where the colors run over the line on the side (2nd to last photo) made me want to ask here what it actually is? It also has something written in Chinese on both sides at the bottom of the art, plus 2 red stamps - does anyone have any idea what it says? Are the red stamps some kind of government approval - or the artist's signature? Any idea how old it is, or is it new? It's a really bright cheerful piece! Any help/thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Charming print, journey. Children and a carp, maybe made for Chinese New Year? @JayBee , @Couch Potato Wannabe ?
五业兴旺 - seems to be about the five industries of prosperity. So the communist ideals of building the economy. I'll let someone else who can read it more easily than me do the rest
Any idea what time period it is from? Thank you for the little translation- it helps tell what it's about!
Does anyone know what the characters say/represent? (I couldn't find anything similar googling Chinese 5 industries of prosperity)
