Sorry no idea why some of the pics are duplicated!

My gut reaction is that this is mid to late 19th century. Could see how it could also be a 20th century revival piece. What do you know about it? Where was it found?

A look at back and drawer bottoms would be helpful.

The Edit button should still be showing for a while.
Click Edit, More Options, next to the pictures you can Delete the duplicates.

Can't get to the back, but have taken some pics of under the drawer and a few others that may help. In England, and it belonged to my first husband, no idea where he got it from.

Later, I suspect. It has that spray on look flock lining to the bottle compartments and a push up latch .Plus the frame and drawer construction look post war for here.

I think you have a very nice quality repro, probably made by Lexterten or another good maker. 1960s or 70s, and I suspect the veneer is yew or elm, they use a lot of that.

Stylistically, it's copying something like this: https://www.ltantiques.co.uk/Antique-sideboard-dressers/product-1527340684454

I'm going with mid 50's to early 60's.

The box on the top looks interesting as does the perfume cosmetic stand

Interesting Ownedbybear, please could you explain a bit more about the push up latch?

    Hi Mrscurious
Your sideboard is English 1860 -1870 Mahogany, Used to have carved mirror back ,check for screw holes at the back.
The rounded sections around the piece top, door ends and base were typical of mid Victorian furniture ,the better pieces were more solid mahogany, the latter pieces had more veneers on pine, yours is a mid range quality ,the better ones also had fancy mainly flame mahogany veneers on the drawer fronts and door panels.
If you google Victorian 4 door mirror back side boards , you should see a lot of examples.
    Regards Giotto.

It's a copy of one, not an original and not mahogany. Look at the frame for a start.

Push up latch: that picture you have, where you flip that bar to raise the rod? Bolt, for want of a better word. Seen in a great deal of post war good repros, and Lexterten used it like mad.

Little age to the drawer sides. Agree re: mid-20th repop. Still, a nice piece.

I am not sure why the pictures I posted ,of a Victorian side board have disappeared.
