Featured Allenbury's feeder

    Am finding things which I cant imagine.

    This is an Allenburys' feeder. Never knew what it was, had to google it.

    Once again, are there any collectors for this kind of item. With technology advancing so fast these are practically redundant.

    The first google link shows it in an Australian Museum. Ebay prices are sub $50 and still not sold. I was not able to locate any sold listing. IMG_2331.jpg IMG_2332.jpg

    How weird is it that I just read a book set in the 20s that mentioned these and I had to google it ???

    Thread drift alert. Allen and Hanbury became part of Glaxo Smith Kline who were one of my customers for a while. They were based at Ware in Hertfordshire close to river meadows. The reason for that was that they used vast quantities of blackcurrants to make lozenges and pastilles. Said fruit grew really well on the River Lea water meadows. They had the most fascinating museum up there.
