    Hi all,
What do you think, real amber? The largest bead weighs 11 grams. Some of the beads look a little rough to me, but I've only seen amber beads when they are used in necklaces, they are always smooth. Is amber always heavy?
It is an outdoor estate sale tomorrow, I'll go have a look at them, I'll take my blacklight. From the box they are in, they look like maybe they were in a store at some point? They are asking $500 for the box, not sure if they will take less or not.
Any tips or information is appreciated.
    thanks for looking:)

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

it says butterscotch and egg yoke,,,,,,& looks like they were stripped from 2 necklaces...

$500....sounds a little steep for a bunch that looks pretty beat up...

Too much, imo, even if they are real butterscotch. Condition is against them.

The smaller ones look like pressed amber, the bigger ones look like either faux amber or heavily processed amber possibly with other stuff mixed in.
Amber beads are usually pressed to get a uniform shape, so that isn't a problem as such. But these are not really the prettiest beads.
    They are delusional.;)

My experience with amber it is feather light. Even bigger pieces. So when you mention weight, if it is heavy then I would be suspicious.

They do seem to go for plenty of money on eBay but the ones I have seen that do well are uniform and pretty flawless.
    $500 seems excessive.
