I have Replacements Crystal Stemware book and went page by page and didn't spot this goblet. It's possible that I missed it. I hope not. I did a Google image search and found someone had 10 listed but they didn't know who either. :( [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I'm sure someone will come along who knows exactly what this is, but I think it may be a reproduction of Boston & Sandwich's Ashburton. I think Westmoreland did the repros. My eyes aren't that great, so please check the pattern on google or replacements to be sure it's the same.

Looks like Westmoreland pattern 1855 revival attempt in the 1950-60s. Kovar shows the original line in her book 1. Several companies made this basic design.

Thank you Susan, Ascot and George. for some reason, I'm still not getting notifications. the drawing in the book made it look different but when I turned the goblet around I could see it.

I'm finding a lot of this listed as Libbey. Even on Replacements they have it as Libbey and under Westmoreland. Anyone know if there is a way to tell the difference?

Likely not. I suspect the Libbey is wrong even though it sounds plausible. Replacments makes mistakes and ebay is notoriously bad.

It is confusing when the have Libbey Rock Sharpe Ashburton and Westmoreland Ashburton. Looks like the same goblet to me.

Hasn't Replacements fixed that? Libbey bought Rock Sharpe, sold old stock and never looked back. Libbey never (to the best of my knowledge) ever produced Rock Sharpe cutting, but when the boys found a catalog for Libbey Rock Sharpe, the attached the two names to everything Libbey made. Grrr.

Ashburton was always a pressed pattern, Rock Sharpe was always blown and cut, light cut, not heavy, ABP type.
Libbey may have made a pattern they called Ashburton, probably did, but Rock Sharpe was never attached to it.

Thanks Tom. I thought it kind of odd they would call these Rock Sharpe.

George, did you see the pictures of the Ashburton with 3 mold seams and WG mark posted on my thread on FB? It appears that mine are Libbey.

I did but did not catch the seam difference.
