Picked this up, thought it was interesting looking, never seen one before. It is only vintage, not antique. The wood portion looks like an arrow head. There is a sprig of horse hair and of course the spray of feathers. Is it American Indian? What does it symbolize? Any opinions are greatly appreciated. :) 100_7087.JPG

Wild turkey feathers. There is nothing specifically Native American about it. Just an interesting decorative piece. (Unless, of course, it is signed with some tribal affiliation.)

Mounted turkey tail and "beard" (not horse hair). Lots of hunters, including my husband, mount them for display.

Here is a picture to illustrate a turkey beard, hanging from the upper chest. The larger the beard will indicate a more mature tom.

I agree, probably just a hunters "trophy" wall hanger.

The first thing that popped in my mind when I saw the picture of your item was Y-Indian Guides craft project. But hunter trophy probably the most likely.
