Featured American Indian or not?

This 23" tall statue is very heavy, over 20 lbs! can't figure out where from, centered wood, hand sawed on ends.

 

That's a big piece of wood. Not native american. My guess would be Haiti but others may know better.

The style doesn't ring a bell. As for her appearance, she wears her long hair loose, which rules out a lot of Asian countries, and all of Africa. No headscarf/veil.
A long-sleeved shirt, a long skirt with what looks like a belt at the front, but not at the back. Puzzling.

Could be a craftsperson's idea of an indigenous woman from ???

 

The key to identifying this piece is finding out what kind of wood it's made from and then where that type of wood grows.

it should....also the twisted fabric ring on her head.......but it eludes me..

 

Most countries where they carry pots on their heads. The pot shape could be SW NA, but the rest doesn't look SW NA.
