Featured An ancient Roman painting

    Just saw this online today.It's an ancient Roman painting probably from Fayum,likely done in encaustic-a wax & pigment blend.I zoomed in on the brush/knife strokes of the piece-amazing work.

    The wonderful mummy portraits of Fayum.Those 2000 year old portraits look so contemporary.

    I have. And I love looking at the jewellery from antiquity. I always think, We've never done it any better.
