This small painting has been passed on in our family for around 100 years. My father once took it to the Dutch version of the Antiques Roadshow, where it was – reportedly – identified as by Bonvin. But for all I know the expert may have said: “This is nothing like Bonvin”.

So any help you could offer as to the artist, or perhaps a place where I could inquire further, would be appreciated.

There might be a signature visible in the lower left-hand corner but I cannot be sure.

    Welcome Darcy. Very nice painting.
    'Tussen Kunst en Kitsch'.;)

François Bonvin, I take it? He did do food and kitchen paintings, but I couldn't say for sure this is by him. Let's wait for the others.

Yes it was Tussen Kunst & Kitsch. The man apparently said: 'goede wijn behoeft geen krans' - bon vin, you see? :)

Yep, goede wijn = bon vin.:)
And he was right, it is good, even without signature.
