Bought these today - there must be over a hundred. But can anyone tell me game one might play with them?

    Thank you!

Do you think? They didn't look like mahjong pieces I'd seen before - the old boys round my way play with bigger proper tile shaped ones. (Noisy, too!)

I should have added that the dots are on both sides, and are the same.

All the ones I have ever seen have been bone, not ivory. Fine and well bleached but bone.

af, these seem to have Schraeger lines, but I'll look properly again with a loupe. Thank you!

I'm seeing bone from here. People here have been known to make jewelry out of mah jong game pieces.

I agree, for Riichi, or Japanese-style Mahjong. I've seen traditional mahjong sets made of bone and bamboo, but I've never come across anything with ivory in it.

    Hi,
My Chinese friends have one from the 1915 to 1920. It is ivory and in a fitted rosewood and brass box.
