After last weeks lesson on Austro-Hungarian in which I was paying full attention, this caught my eye as interesting.
The auctioneers are as usual vague with description of ‘enamel and paste’ and stingy with their slightly out of focus photos so this is the best I can do at the moment although I can ask for more.
There is a matching bracelet and one earring with a screw back by the look of it.
What am I looking at please?
    Thankyou.

I don't know what it is but I would take a chance on it if the price is right! The earring looks pierced to me.

That’s what I was thinking!. It made my nose twitch as to what the necklace is though.
It will probably go for way above estimate but they haven’t mentioned gold and silver in the description which always helps. There look to be some nice pieces in there but rubbish photos so anyone’s guess really. That was the only large photo. Earring could be pierced but I can’t tell!.

Oohhh! Lovely and striking Austro necklace! Pastes but vivid and good condition, I'd try to grasp it:joyful:

Which dates it to around when MOS? Google tells me that is 1890 to 1930?.
    Does the bracelet clasp help?

Can't see well... But has all style for 1890 rather than later date of 1930:)

Mouth watering, K.:hungry::happy: Yes, Austro-Hungarian Historic Revival. And yes, grab it if you can.
The stones could be real. The enamel is mostly in good condition. The earring is probably missing a pearl pendant, no real problem.
I hope no one realises what it is, or the bidding will go through the roof.:nailbiting:

Unlikely it won’t get spotted but one day I may get lucky.
At least my eye is improving as to what to look for. Off to thoroughly google renaissance revival.........thanks all :)

I'd also want the amber in behind it.

Think I will have to firmly sit on my hands after a certain limit for this lot!.

I think the earring is made with 2 necklace’s links... with a necklace that long, it won’t be difficult to make another earring:)

I thought so too at first, but sometimes earrings were made with the same elements as necklaces. You can certainly make a matching earring from the necklace or bracelet

Great idea to make another earring out of the necklace but I feel we are counting our chooks before they are hatched!
But I can dream...just in case everyone else is (hopefully) snoozing when the auction finishes.

Ah, forgot to update!. Within all the other lots that went for sub £100 this went for £600.
    We have good taste apparently!
