Do you think these candlesticks are young, old, middle-aged ?
Where the stem attaches to the base is a sort of solidified puddle. The bottom has a slightly protruding dimple. At the top of the stem the shape becomes kind of - "organic" is the word that comes to mind. 6" (15cm) tall. 20190904_170530.jpg 20190904_171101.jpg 20190904_170746.jpg 20190904_170655.jpg 20190904_170539.jpg 20190904_170953.jpg

I love the colour!. Like sticky toffee. I know nothing about glass but it does seem....undecided.....in its style.

With that as a clue I found this. I couldn't get to the site because of "Bad Gateway" (whatever that actually means) but I nabbed this photo. Oop - now there's a download problem - plan B. Got it ! amber candlestick.jpg They call it "Mid-Century Italian Empoli Amber Glass Compote Pedestal Bowl"

Thanks johnnycb09 ! In my previous post the connecting area at the top of the stem doesn't show very well in my pic, but on the site I got it from it was clearly the same as on my candlestick. The first download I made of the image had a dis-allowed extension so I couldn't put it here. This gets complicated sometimes !

I get that all the time when using my old iPad but not on the phone. What does it mean?

I have no idea ! I'm a technosaur. I downloaded the 1st time with the Firefox browser. The 2nd time I use Google Chrome. Both times the image went to my download file. I've now exhausted my knowledge.

The "extension" is the 3 letters that follow the file name. It defines what kind if file it is = text, image, spreadsheet, gif, etc. = and what program was used to create it. Normally, the image files are .jpg. But different operating systems using different programs to create files can create problems when you are using hardware of a different type. When you save something from elsewhere on the net, you should be careful to see what extension follows the file name and whether it is compatible with your operating system.

Hmmm...the 2nd time I noticed it said jpeg. I have heard of/seen that before. I just went and looked - the 1st time it was a .webp

What confuses me (easily done) is if I get that extension error and screenshot the photo it still gives the extension error although it should now be a jpeg?. On my newer iPhone it doesn't care about the extension and will load either.

I really don't know. My complete store of knowledge about extensions is in those 3 sentences above. ;)
