Had to post this. I've been on FB with a group I just found made up of people who went to the 1964-65 World's Fair in NYC. Now I'm digging into the archives to post pictures of my geek collection.

Doubtful it has any intrinsic value. NFS anyway.

    COOL! TOO COOL TO SELL!!!

I was at the '64 World's Fair, this reminds me of the "future" exhibit there.
I enjoyed that fair so much!

Your necklace looks never worn, or perhaps for only a short time one day.

Edited 2x because I cannot see to type.

And it's still there, though battered.

It's a shame the city has neglected the site. Ah memories.

It may have been a part of the "future world" exhibit. I loved seeing that and so much of what was shown has come to pass already. Sorry to hear the city has neglected the site.

Some folks organized a reunion there this year and there will be another event next year. I'm going to try and go. The Belgians kept the Atomium from the 1958 World's Exposition and turned it into a museum with a restaurant at the top. We've visited several times. New York should have taken their example.

In 1964 I had just turned 15. My 22 year old cousin & I drove down from NH and parked near the Florida Exhibit. We slept in the car for a week. They'd let us in early in the morning to wash up in the public bathrooms. We got free OJ all week and lived on Belgian waffles from the Belgian village. In 1965 we went down again for a week with her parents and stayed in a motel in CT. Drove into the city early every day and spent the whole day at the Fair. Best times of my young life.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I love that necklace -- I tend to like "different" things with globes on them.

I haven't looked at it in decades, but once I found the NY World's Fair group on FB I started bringing out all my old souvenirs.
