Is it genuine Gustave Hauber? The seller doesn't provide such information

Thanks, I decided to get this - it was very cheap, and I really like antique brooches. Will keep you posted when it arrives

Thank you! Very good to know these details! The style is still Jugendstil or Art Deco, or there is other name if it's 1950s?

I'd call it Modernist. There is a slight possibility it is Art Deco, which is also part of Modernism.
Jugendstil is German Art Nouveau, so late 19th, early 20th century. Before Art Deco.

Hi, finally the brooch arrived. It's very lovely and bigger than I expected. However, I have a doubt - the stone in the middle (rose quartz?) has some lines.
Are these cracks or natural inclusions?
Also, the metal on the back has some "rainbow" stains - is it proper for silver to have that appearance?

    Great, April.
I can't see them, but rosequartz (yes it is :)) can have natural lines.
Some people say it is a sign of silverplate, but I have seen it on silver as well. So I wouldn't worry about it.

The rainbow stains will be where something has come into contact with the silver and reacted with it. A Sunshine Cloth might fix it.

April, I could be wrong, but they look like surface scratches. If they are, the stone can be polished by a jeweller.

I took photos with better light so that the lines are seen - trying to upload more photos

They go some mm inside the stone...

That's better, thanks. They look like the natural lines in the quartz. I have never seen them this dark, but that could be a trick of the light.

Do you mean like they do with oil treated emeralds?

Cracks formed when the mineral is cooling and more silica seeps into the cracks "healing" the stone to a more solid form.
