Another Day Another Terracotta Pot...

    Hello! Hope you're all well.

Went to that consigment place yesterday and found another urn similar to one I posted about years ago from Manifattura di Signa. This one is unsigned, but has all the qualities that my last pot has.

Here's the link to that pot.

This one is taller, wasn't able to get the exact measurements but one of the photos shows it compared to other items on the shelf. Definitely the same style, motif, and material. It also looks to have some age. But it's not signed. I checked on the sides as well as sometimes MdS did that, but I cannot find their mark anywhere.

Could this be unsigned MdS? There's so little information about the company that its hard to say if they ever did leave pieces unsigned. I found one box for sale online that was attributed to them, but there's nothing to back that up.

A google lens search led me to this pair of identical urns, but not much more information.

I'm not sure what to think about this. Its nice, and the urn I got a few years ago still promises a good profit (I've just waited until I can be near an auction house so I don't have to ship), but I don't really know where to go from here. I'd love some opinions!

Thanks for your time as always.

For that price, I’d buy it. (I’d also be looking at that nice blue and white jug.)

Great Jugendstil decoration, but missing a basin imo.

Ditto 36 Euros good price, but this quality level reminds me of conventional Design Toscano stuff, but it's real cheap-so why not ?
I'd sure love to find this quality of Manifattura di Signa (good luck !)-

Agree. It is cheap, but then again not Manifattura di Signa quality imo.
With those blurred details and applied staining it looks more like a gardencentre piece to me. If you like it, it is certainly value for money.

Ditto-It looks like a Home Depot piece to me too, just too blobby- still a little simple faux finish (or not) and it could bring a decent profit.

I buy a lot of garden stuff for my bonkers garden. That, new, would be eighty to a hundred quid, which is why I buy them at car boots and such. I’ve got reconstituted stone urns bought new decades ago with terrific moss patina on them, and could probably get over a hundred each for them. Garden stuff sells.

aj, I agree, it had a bowl.

I like it better than the urn thing. The stencilling makes me think it was made for commercial use, or would have been here.

That stencil airbrush is quite common on domestic wares here. More mass market utility pieces, and nowt wrong with that.

If it's pretty and it sells, good enough!

Hi all! I know this is late but just wanted to say I did read and appreciate all your replies! I ended up not getting this, we've not gone back and I'm very busy prepping a shortish term move! On my way to the Cote D'Azur for 3 months. This might be my last message for a while whilst I get settled, so thank you all and I'll be back!
