    Hello again folks!

Most of the stuff I find/buy I can find information on myself, but there is always something that I can get zero information on.

My mom got this very beautiful and extremely heavy Chinese bowl/platter, but can't find anything similar. It comes from Belgium antiques auction and has some stickers on the back as well as the mark. Any ideas who's work is this and what period is this from? Could this silver Made in China sticker mean it's some recent copy or some antique auctions put them on themselves? I ask this too because many Chinese porcelain items in European antiques auctions have them on.

    Thanks again so much!

It is modern Chinese copy of Japanese Satsuma, 1980+. Weirdly it has a Qianlong reign mark.

It did make me chuckle wondering what the thought process was - 'Let's make some Japanese Satsuma style peices and mark them with the Emperor Qianlongs seal!!!'

I think the Qianlong seal is like a quality seal to them. Which is often questionable of course.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

no auction house uses stickers to mark place of origin.....

& the crazing on the base....... not a good sign of any age,,,,,IMO
