Featured Another Mysterious Statue

    hello guys,here's my another mysterious statue.I have it for years,but i don't know any information about the statue.The only thing that i know is,this is from greek,the past owner said it was 19th century's.so the rest i left to you guys to identified,any thought are welcome,thank you

    from the pose and the size,i'm afraid this is the part of the tomb or grave?:eek::eek:

    It looks like it is supposed to be a caryatid, a Greek pillar in the shape of a person. Like these:

    I'm sure someone else can find the proper one for you.
    It is extremely small for a statue on a grave.

    A very lazy ushabti, folding her arms while the other ushabtis do all the work in the afterlife.

    it's the form and especially size that counts as well. after the 1880s excavations they were also done by famous factories like Mougin Nancy. castings done by several foundries around Paris.

    No, seriously, your mystery items are always welcome.:)
    All I can say of this girl has already been said, I think. I agree with a Greek Goddess, and likely 19th century, made after an original from antiquity. And Bronwen has identified her family.;)

    sorry this is maybe a late reply,but i found new things about this statue,today i know that this style of statue was belong to pre historic ancient greek goddess statue,especially cycladic civilization,the style was keep reproducting until modern time.i also found kind of creepy story about this kind statue in ebay,:(

    i do believe this kind statue was made for religious/worshiping/afterlife purpose so yes,some maybe has creepy things behind it!
