    another estate necklace, I can barely MAkers out 1/20 gf. bakelite? amber? can I test with baking soda for Bakelite?
    oLder spring clasp?

    Me too; they've been restrung at least once, so the clasp means nothing whatever.

    Sure looks like it. I'd check again in the same spot, to guard against niccotine false positives. Tobacco smoke yuck sometimes gets stuck to plastic items and other things.
