Featured another odd Volkstedt mark, does it look legit? Also does this figural look like it's from a clock?

I posted a similar mark a couple months ago, in this case its not like a portion has worn away it looks like it was actually made that way with only half of one pitchfork or whatever. Is that legit? I dont see that in the Rontgen book.

It's very well done. I wouldn't worry too much about its authenticity.

The grouping is made up from:
E10740 (pedlar / male offering goods) by Gustav Oppel
E10741 (pedlar / female with basket) by Gustav Oppel
E10742 (pedlar / organ grinder with monkey) by Gustav Oppel
E10743 (pedlar / female with tambourine) by Eduard Pfeifer

Shown mark is misleading; the later iterations of the factory often re-used older marks, especially during the period in which the German Democratic Republic (GDR alias "East Germany") existed. Here that is easy to see; both sculptors joined the AeV long after the last hayfork mark had been used.

The oldest porcelain factory in Volkstedt (nowadays Rudolstadt-Volkstedt) is officially named "Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur", quite a mouthfull even in German. It is therefore often abbreviated "AeV" as to avoid confusion with the other porcelain factories in and around Volkstedt. At the same time the abbreviation stands for the core factory during periods in which various (ex)proprietors did their own thing (like "Eckert & Co." which broke away from "Triebner, Ens & Eckert").

I get carried away sometimes, sorry.
