Figured I'd post this other pocket watch when pocket watches are still fresh on people's minds. Unfortunately, mine doesn't work, but figured 6 pounds was still a good deal. I'm having trouble finding the right marks. It seems that the movement doesn't quite fit the maker... It's also hall-marked for Birmingham, but on the back cover.

Movements were made by watch makers, cases by silversmiths.:)
Just like in Preston's watch, where the movement is Swiss, and the case English.
    It is gorgeous, btw.

    Ah, that makes sense. :)
I love the case decoration so much that I wish the watch could be repurposed somehow so that the case could be worn.

I was looking for the maker, but the only British silversmith I found with a similar mark was Moses Salkind, and most of his stuff seems to be Judaica.
Yeah, I found that really interesting. The garter and the shield combo is the same.

Birmingham?? The only city mark I see looks like the London lion. What am I missing?

I see the lion passant, but no London mark (leopard's head).

The shields on the back are fairly generic, somewhere to scribe your monogram.

It's missing the hands and glass. I don't know if it actually is broken or not though. I need to find a key that fits it to wind it.

don't bother. whatever people think - it's the remnants of a 5 - 10 € pocket watch. the only value is in the silver.

Quite a few people use the cases on their own if particularly nice as lockets or keep-safe containers hung on a chain. Smaller ones anyway. I think they're lovely too, so much detail.
