Another RSPCA Donation, Cast Iron Swordsman

Hi,

This is a rather unusual looking (and in very poor condition) cast iron swordsman, it has a slot on the back but seems to small to be a money box, I have a feeling its been sat (or dug up) in somebodies garden, if you can shed any light on this one please feel free to post

Looks a bit like George Washington. That gesture with his right hand and the uniform with the epaulet fringe going clear across his back.

 

Yep - that's George alright.
And even though it's rather small, it is indeed a bank.
I have no idea how old, but the flat head screw is a good thing.

Lots of them - some in uniform, some in just a suit.
