Featured Antique 800 silver scent bottle?

Hi all,

can anyone tell me if this scent bottle is indeed antique? Just paid for it but seller won’t dispatch it until next week, so feel safer to ask here! I did google search and all matches were described as antique.

It is an antique chatelaine scent bottle. Sweet find.
Looks German (800) Jugendstil, with those very angular hanldes.

Now the next thing to worry about is seller forgetting to post this sweet little thing for me and go on vacation again

 

Jugendstil is the German Art Nouveau.
One Jugendstil style is close to the Belgian and French Art Nouveau, with swirls. The other is more angular with strong lines, like a forerunner of Art Deco.

 

Don't worry about it. Put a reminder in your phone for a week from now and move on to nicer things. If they haven't posted it when the reminder goes off, send them a message.

 

I have never had any Jugendstil stuff (probably nothing from Germany at all), so happy to find one here so even on Chinese ebay there are nice European antique to hunt for!

 

There should be, there have been Europeans in China ever since Marco Polo. And trade with Europe by way of the Persians long before that.
