    Hi all,

I have come across an old brass telephone. There is a label on the rotary dial which is mostly faded to the point of being illegible but I can read Great Bedwyn 424 on it. I am not sure what this means as Google hasn't given me any obvious guidance. The whole unit is very heavy so I am assuming it is brass. I can't see any hallmarks or anything like that on there. Could anybody shed some light on this item for me?

Great Bedwyn is a village in Wiltshire UK, the 424 will be the number of the exchange, or the actual phone number.
