Antique bronze paperweight - African Head

I've recently come across this metal (presumably bronze) paperweight (?) in the form of an African head, although it is something I don't normally collect.
It's dimensions are 10.5cm x 8.5cm and appears to be of decent quality.

Would anyone be able to suggest a probable age and origin of this item ?

An African Bust, but I think of European make - so you might want to search Blackamoor, Moor, or Moorish.

 

Does the head come off?

Not seeing any worn ‘golden’ areas to make me think it’s bronze underneath the patination.
