    Good Morning

We have a set of four dining room chairs (one is photographed). We purchased them with our house we bought a few years ago, a long with a few other unique furniture items. We really like them, but don't use them a lot as the leather is pretty worn. I did not see any markings on them.

My question would be if anyone can tell from the photographs the age and possibly the creator of these chairs. Also we are thinking about reupholstering them with new leather. What are your opinions on that? Would it devalue them?

They have that Jacobean oak look. Can you photo the back of the piece and underside of seat (if not covered in that black ticking)

Handsome chairs. They are a Spanish revival style and probably teens or 20s. It would not devalue them to have them reupholstered if you can find a similar type leather.

Thanks, that is where some of my google searches took me. We actually have purchased two whole hides already for them, just didn't know if it was a good choice or not. Now we need to find someone to do a good job on it.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I'm sure if you get someone reputable, they'll refinish them beautifully, as well!!!!

Over here, replacing the leather would devalue. The thing now is to repair even if it means a patch.

Early 20th century revival. I actually like the leather as-is.

No, it would increase their value if professionally done
