Found this in a local thrift store & really liked it, but I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help me?
    Thanks
    PS - It measures 8" x 6"

Darn! It's tail is broken off. It has the look of a cut sheet metal weathervane horse, but with that clip-on base, I wonder what it's original use was....?
It kinda has that recent, replica look for yard and garden decor.
    EDIT:
It looks like it was sponged with something to make the metal look weathered.

Given how the horse is leaning forward, it looks like it's pulling something - a plow? a wagon? Maybe there were other pieces to this?

Might have been from a rural mailbox?

Journey - what are the measurements of the attachment clip? 1 x 1?

Too big for a license plate topper.

    Hi,
just a humble opinion. Looks like a new piece trying to look old. That is "newer"
rust old rust would have more blackish areas.

I agree with Greg - neither antique nor carved - cut from sheet metal with something applied to make it look "weathered." I have a couple Christmas tree ornaments that I bought brand new in Alaska with the same look. The color of the rust gives it away.

    Yes.
Hobby Lobby, Michael's etc. have such ready-to-go treatments and there are formulas.
