Antique carved wood ducks - Indonesian?

Hello,

I've purchased these two antique carved wood ducks at auction and I was wondering if anyone had seen anything similar? They don't look like classic decoys so I was thinking that they might be Asian, perhaps from Indonesia? If anyone could help me identify their origin, it would be super helpful. They are beautifully carved with polychrome details. They're pretty big, approx. 60 cm long and 50 cm high. Thanks!

 

I'm thinking maybe geese; but no idea as to origin.

 

I agree, they look more like geese than ducks!

 

IMO Indonesian wooden ducks made for the tourist trade .

 

These are likely to be recent decorative items rather than antique.

Thanks! They show signs of age (not necessarily visible on the image) but probably more vintage than antique

Could be Balinese rather than Javanese. Based on traditional religious storage boxes, which are often shaped like (mythical) animals.
Yours are decorative items, not made specifically for the tourist trade, but for any trade, both domestic and export. Nice to have a pair.

I agree, vintage, probably 1950s, maybe a bit older.

 

I would add that the difference would be the weight of it ,the bali stuff is really light and vintage or antique has some weight to them IMO
