Antique Chair identify

    Bought this little chair and wanted to know something about it if anyone can recognise it .Underneath looks like straps holding horse hair I know nothing else about it any help appreciated. P6100602.JPG P6100605.JPG

    Doesn't look too old to me, mahogany is in good condition and the colours on the material aren't very worn as you would expect with use and age. I suspect it is part of a set. I Would date from 30's-60's . Try looking for any makers marks, logos, or item/issue numbers. As a side note, the carving on the middle looks similar to a Celtic design so possibly Irish/English maker :)

    Hi thanks for the reply I found out it's a serpentine carved top side chair usually part of a set .
