Antique Chinese temple stone rubbing

    This isn't mine but I just purchased this exact same piece. Not this one. With the site problem I couldn't post pictures of mine.
    It's a poem. Night mooring at Maple bridge.
    3' wide x 6' long.

    I've never seen a "temple rubbing" from China, much less one that is only calligraphy. You sure this isn't a print?

    The stone Carving is in Hanshan Temple China and is visited by Chinese and Japanese. The poem was written by the 8th Century Chinese poet Zhang Ji.
    Apparently it is a pretty well known .
    I don have proof it's weather it's a print of some kind
    The border is more of a matting over the top and put on in 4 sections. Interesting technique if it is a rubbing.
