I have seen many different makers of clay pipes and have no clue how to distinguish from one to another. Any ideas on maker and/or age on this one? the bowl is 3/4" wide and the length is 1 1/2".

If it was found locally, your best bet would be to find a historical archeologist in your area.

No, not wrong. I was hoping the source would provide specific information for each pipe because the one on the upper right looks like it might be the same as the op's, as Aquitaine said. Such clay pipes were made by many manufacturers, over a period of hundreds of years. I believe archeologists have established chronologies for many types, but it is a specialist topic.

We don't know where it was found, as @Steve Shubinski hasn't returned, as of yet!!:happy: Hopefully, he's NOT wrapped up in any of the wildfires out there!!

Thanks to all for the input. This was something my Mom purchased probably 25 years or longer ago and no idea where it was purchased.

There's an excellent UK site for these if I can find it.
