Picked this up in a charity shop in Malton. Im currently staying in Scarborough and thought I'd venture further afield. I have found a similar example online albeit a different type of object. Has to be the same makers looking at the mark. Although the website doesn't give much detail away. Now I just have to get it back home on the train.

Google translates 仿古 characters as: "Modeled after an antique"

You can take that for what it's worth I guess since the first character isn't an exact match.

Ah. Saw the Chinese squiggles and convinced myself that they were something else. Thought it to be too good quality to be a Chinese copy but guess I was wrong. Thanks.

The mark is from a company called Asiatides. Not antique, though.

Thank you. I should get my money back and might even cut a profit, given the standard of decor but still disappointed..

Edit Crikey, it goes for more than I expected
