This style mirror was popular in the 1950s-60s Early American period.
Back might be Masonite. Can't really tell.

I sold one at my aunt's estate sale back in the early 80s. When I took it off the wall it was plastic. You could not tell while it was hanging. I'm not saying this one is.

For myself, when spending that kind of money, I really would want to see it in hand.

Thank you clutteredcloset, I think I'll be careful. It just does not look the part to me.

Yeah, i would RUN! not walk away from this deal.
Although i am not a mirror person, the mirror is very important to those that are and in description it says "Mirror is not Original"

Original would be gilded, not painted with gold powder like this and have other bits attached like an eagle, rockwork, acanthus and sometimes girandoles. etc.

Specialized in giltwood all through the big trend of the 80's.

I’d call it a porthole mirror, might be Syroco or similar.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Besides, that's quite a "Mash-up" from the looks of it of one of those crossed "ribbons", at least to ME......(if people are selling something, I don't know why some of them don't take better pictures!!!) If it were me, I'd listen to James!!!

We called them bulls-eye mirrors back when I dealt in them.

above pic is just a repair - I think it may indeed be a wooden mirror AFAIK syroco didn't do these with balls. No balls on theirs and usually starburst too ..I have one in my living room!

Yeah GO GO GO!! Light fuse and get away!!

Let me add, however, that a genuine antique mirror may not have a wood back. We like them when they do, but sometimes, for various reasons, the back had to be replaced.

From what I have learned, you cannot delete after (what seems like) 2 minutes tops. You can edit, however. The moderators can do more with deleting or editing but I don't know how it works.
