antique inlaid mahogany dresser

    measures 47in wide , 32 in High and 23 in Depth
    It is all inlaid with Metal figures on the corners
    It has a removeable Marble Top.
    It is in very good condition

    it's beautiful...cept for those metal figures.....which look out of place.
    I'd be interested to find out it's not a later reproduction of an earlier design...

    With the serpentine shape, marquetry, and ormolu mounts I would probably refer to this as a (French) commode. As to its actual age, I'm at sea. The original style was popular in the mid-late 1700s, and there was a resurgence of the style in the late 1800s, with "modern" repros mostly popular in the 1960s through today. An examination of the construction and interior details would be necessary to determine if it is original to a certain period or if it is a recent reproduction.

    Absolutely, can't tell much about it with photos provided except it's Louis XV style Bombay chest of drawers, i would guess a revival piece, 20th century.
    Where are you, where did you get the chest?

    Really need to see the back and drawer/case construction. Just based on the lack of quality to the brass mounts, would say this is pretty recent.

    that does not strike me as a quality old time piece....is there a dove tail,,,anywhere ?

    Changes to late 19th century or early 20th revival chest.

    Better than I suspected and agree with Owned on a 50s Italian date. Later ones have thin plywood panels for backs and drawer bottoms.
