    Hello,
I bought this medical syringe in a Swiss old market and the seller told me it is from the 1960. Do you have knowledge that confirms his statement? Do you know for what exactly it was used?
    Many thanks for you discussion.

I suspect it's for washing out earwax when done by an otologist or for a veterinary to wash out and sterilize wounds.
    what's the size ?
form didn't change since the 1960s.

The 60s of what century? Hope you're not considering something from the 1960s an antique.

Hello, thanks for your replies. The syringe is a 1mL size, so I would suspect it was used to administrate some medicines.

Sorry I corrected the "antique" :)

What puzzles me is that I can find many old syringes but not so much with the metal protection around it.

1mL ??? one milli-liter I guess. then it's most probably a heavy duty one (military, travel, work etc.) for Insulin; my uncle had a similar one, but I can't remember the size he needed.

It would take you forever to infuse a turkey with a syringe that only holds 1 ml or 1 cc. FYI 30 cc = 1 oz.

1 ml/cc is definitely not big enough to use for irrigation... of an ear, wound, turkey, or otherwise.
Looks to be for injection of meds/drugs but just has no needles included.
