I have this antique mica shade with zodiac symbols on it. It came out of a 1920's home and was the original owners.

Can anyone tell me more about it? I don't see a signature etc. on it. It's really unique.

Just the shade? It's not on its original lamp?

Nice and a bit quirky. They were very much into astrology in the 20s, so it could be the same period as the house it came from.
It looks a bit Arts and Crafts.

I took the liberty of posting two photos full image so people can see:

Killer shade and 1920s is right on. You don't give size but assume it o be on the small side and it looks like it has an uno fitter. Correct? As such, it was probably fitted to a bridge lamp.

It came from a bridge lamp. They didn't seem to complement each other, it was super ornate with lots of scrolling. But did fit. The lamp. Thanks for confirming 1920's confirmation! Wasn't sure.

Yes. I'm holding onto the lamp but will probably sell the shade though.

Wondering minds.... Could we see a photo of the lamp? Or if you want to hit a home run with this group, a photo of the lamp with the shade on it. :)

I'm not sure what happened here with Debora's question but help us help you! :D Seeing the whole thing as you got it is important to answering your questions as best we can.

Answer was not the original lamp. But helpful to see nevertheless.

Wasn't clear what was what. It sounds like the OP purchased the lamp with shade at a sale, but I guess there is some question whether they were a pair. Brad said this shade would go with a "bridge lamp". And the OP said that the lamp that came with this was a bridge lamp. Also that it came out of a 1920's house and everything was from the original owners. All of this got me thinking maybe the lamp WAS the original lamp. Not that the OP was asking this, but a photo might (pun alert) ...shed some light.

Hi All, Sorry to confuse everyone. It wasn't an estate sale. It is a home with contents we inherited. We're working our way through it. As you can see, getting to the lamp was tricky. I liked the other shade better but I found the zodiac shade with this lamp in one of the bedrooms and the one on it elsewhere in the house. I hope tht makes sense

I can't either. Which is good but not highly convenient :( I think I was just put it up for auction and see how it goes. A bit worried about keeping it safe for shipping but I'll just "overpack" it!
