    Welcome, Debbie. :)

I don't have an opinion on the metal composition, but his uniform and headgear appear to be very similar to British forces overseas - Africa, Asia? Are you in the UK perhaps?

I'm in France but it doesn't necessarily follow that he's French.

Of course you are right, Debbie. I was just wondering whether you might be in a place where more rigorous research (than can be done online) British armed forces and "army men toys" might be done locally.

Let's see what some of our British members have to say. @daveydempsey @Ownedbybear

    Welcome Deborah.
Since Deborah is in France, he could be from the French colonial army. The red helmet doesn't look British, and the French colonial army had the same shape helmets. I don't know which colour though, so I am paging our French Indochina expert, @kyratango .:)

    Bienvenue Deborah!
Agree with AJ (psst, I'm not an expert in all Indochina subjects :joyful:) for the helmet looking similar to the colonial 1886 model from what I saw there:

Unable to find any with what seems to be red feathers on it...
The white color uniform is consistant too with colonial... heat:joyful:
But not sure if the figurine is an exact representation:bucktooth:

You are the only French Indochina expert we have, so you'll have to do.:hilarious:
No, seriously, you know more about French Indochina than any of us, so you will be tagged, no ifs and buts.

My first thought was Monaco - something like the Prince's Guard or Honor Guard or something along those lines.

Funny, I thought something like that in Italy, but couldn't find anything.

Maybe they used to have red plumes?

5 inches seems pretty unusual for a toy soldier if it came in a group.

He's pretty neat and has swanky affiliations. Love it/him :)

There are some Boer War uniforms which are close and one Australian one of that era but like that guard, none have the red plumes.
