Featured Antique Oil Painting...Artist Crowell...Info...Help

Any help appreciated.

 

Csn't help at all, but I like it. Very pastoral. I think the frame is a bit overwhelming but, given its condition, that should be on the way out anyhow.

It's painted on cardboard? How big is the painting? How thick is the board?

 

It is painted on canvas...The cardboard,is the backing,on the frame.

It measures 11-1/2 x 17-1/2....

 

A look at the back of the canvas might be useful to people who know more than I.

The signature appears to be: CROWELL - I have not googled that common name.

 

i looked with my askart subscription but didn't find a Crowwell that matches the style of this one...

 

I am a great admirer of art and love painting. I want to thank you for sharing all this stuff; I am also collecting photographs of some genuine Aboriginal Art work. So it will be great if you can also share few.
