Antique Painting,Old Stretcher,Rose head Nails

    SAM_5972.JPG SAM_5973.JPG SAM_5973.JPG I bought this old painting at a church sale many years ago.I can't find any information.Not signed.I looked with my loupe nails are rose head nails.I assume it's very old.Thick paint,look like an impression painting.I would love to have any information.     It is a nice seascape, but very dirty, and serious condition issues.

    It does look like it's aged. Rosehead nails (or a version there of) are still available (though I'm used to seeing the old ones used in construction) could your be flat head tacks?

    Look like plain old tacks to me but painting does have some age to it.

    The stretcher looks like amateur work, with no sophisticated joinery, or keys to make adjustments.
