Another new find that wasn't cheap but that I really enjoy! Love the level of detail and the subject matter. The Auctioneer thought the dealership was local but didn't know the exact location; possibly either Cincinnati or Portsmouth, OH area. I've tried my hand at searching the web and didn't find much other than another photograph of the same establishment on a model T forum with no additional location info. Anybody here able to work their internet sleuthing wizardry to give me some additional pointers in identifying the location of this photograph?

    Thanks,
    Joe

One should always listen to one's father.

Back in the '60's Dad had restored both a '15 and a '17 Model T.....then he and Mom would take one out on special occasions!! They didn't belong to any club or anything.....Mom Loved to go out on Easter Sunday with her "Easter Bonnet"!! Life was fun back then!!!

Another photo of it. Already framed, not sure if I am going to touch up the paint on the frame before I hang it or not.

    Any suggestions?

I think the slightly distressed frame matches perfectly the way it is!

I do too. Sometimes an attempt at perfection erases the past.

Sorry , Joe.......the mat and frame don't do anything for me at all.

    I'd like a darker mat...and less frame.
I think that would give more punch to the photo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, imho !

( having framed art for over 20 years..) ;):sorry:

Yeah the matting isn't my style either but it and the frame are original, I think, judging by the construction and the wire on the back. I don't really want to open it up and find that the photo is impossible to remove from the matting. Better to leave it as is - is my thought.

Fabulous photo. Your mum looks so happy and your Dad looks very pleased with himself. Lovely memories for you :happy::happy:

    That's an outstanding photo!

I would open it, clean the glass, and if the photo is not glued to the mat, add an acid free paper spacer to the back of the mat.

Thanks, Tracey!! That really was a FUN day, I remember it well, since I took that picture!!!!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It appears to me that this is may be a card-mounted photo, as would be prevalent at that time. So glued to a card. Putting it in a different frame would be a great idea. Or at least UV protected glass would be good.

@Joe2007, hope you don't mind....just played with a different perspective on matting and framing on your image without doing much of anything to your original except squaring it up......my feelings WON'T be hurt as we are all set in our ways as to what we like and don't like!!!!

Model T's are fun ! Too bad so many folks on the road cannot drive sanely and make driving my car a bit stressful !
