Featured Antique picture frame, style? and type of wood?

    This is the frame that the marriage certificate from 1877 came in. I cleaned it up and thinking is is so beautiful but i don't know what style to call it. Also thinking this might be the perfect frame to house my William Hart painting if it doesn't sell.

    This is likely contemporary to the certificate. There was a lot of interest in rustic furnishings at that time and this would fit. While not quite what one usually thinks of as an Adirondack frame, it is in the same vein.

    Thank you. Funny thing that frames like this are being called Adarondack Hudson river frames. Perfect for a Hudson River scool artist painting.
