I picked this up from a lady liquidating her household, it measures 19.5"height. From what I can tell the hands and head are not wood, not plastic either but rather more like bone, anyway, am I pointing in the right direction? it being Quan-yin, also, if I were to sell it how much would be a good selling price for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. kwan1.jpg kwan1.jpg

the head and hands are likely ivory......
you'd better pin down it's age before you decide to sell it.

I think shes lovely. The necklace looks like an add on,just doesnt seem to fit. Love the enameling, and it certainly looks like ivory, but that crack up the back has me concerned it might be newer (wich of course could mean 50 years old ) . I heard somewhere that artisans wouldnt have used wood that was newer, precisely because it could crack as it dried out.

It could be made yesterday and you could sell it. Are you very young ? :)
