    Hello all,

I've got a number of rugs that I'm trying to find more about, cparticularly age, style, country of origin and if it's good condition or not.

    Number 1 - 31" wide x 163" long
Obviously this has a tag which gives me a reasonable amount of information.

    Hi Jack,
I concur with Davey. Chinese rugs are nice functional and very well made.

The others all look Persian to me. I love them, but it is a bit of an overload for my ADD brain, especially if I have to go back and forth in the thread, so I will leave further ID to the others. I am sure they will be along later.:)

Beautiful group. I agree that they’re all Persian (made in Iran) other than the Chinese one.

Agree with above. #3 looks somewhat like a Tabriz. Sometimes they have the maker's name in the weave and are generally a cut above.
    Nice rugs...

Nice bunch of rugs! (my faves are 7 and 8)

As said above, almost all are Persian, IMO primarily Kerman and Mashad "city" rugs.

First one is easy. Says made in Iran so after 1949. Vintage bout not antique.

Sorry. Bad with history here I guess. March 21, 1935 appears to be the date. Persia becomes Iran.

Beautiful collection! I suggest you have them appraised by an expert, it would probably be well worth the fee. Rugs vary wildly in value with details not so apparent to the average citizen (like me). When we were buying in Istanbul, our carpet dealer told us that he comes to the US every year to assess collections, so I know there are itinerant buyers out there.

I actually spoke to a nice chap earlier, who fortunately isn't too far away from me, and I've agreed to take them over next week for a proper valuation. It's certainly not cheap but I think it's the only way to go as I don't think now is the right time to sell.
