Antique Side Table/storage

    Hello,
    I have this side table/storage for a long time from a friend. I looked for any maker marl for identification but was unsuccessful. Does anybody know how old this piece is or who might have made it?     Hard saying. Looks like a home made piece with pyrography decoration. Best guess is 50s-60s. What is the interior lined with?

    I have no idea what country it is from but I am in US. This piece looks from Asia to me.
