These were a surprise-find that were being sold online. The guy had no price listed, so I bought them for a song after shooting him an offer.

They're nice, big chopsticks, with no damage, beyond just regular use and a bit of tarnishing.

They're marked "SILVER" on the base of the grips, and there's one more additional mark, which I can't read. It's either numbers or letters.

In this last photo, you can see where it's stamped "SILVER", and then something else. It's marked "DI" or "D1", which I assume is the maker's mark.

They are lovely. Given the SILVER mark, the maker would probably have been in one the former British colonies. Could even be Australian.

Given the orientation of the word silver, I would first assume the other mark would be "IG" or "IC".

That would make sense. The matching placing of the marks seems deliberate.
Next task is finding an IC somewhere in the British Empire.:playful:

The IC might be the maker. I've seen British pieces with SILVER or STERLING and maker's initials. Bernard Instone for example.

Australian silver is usually marked "STG SIL" or some variant thereof, so I don't think it is Australian, but from one of the other British Asian colonies certainly sounds like a possibility. Singapore? Hong Kong? I guess we may never know, but they are cute though.

Those would be first on my list of 'suspects'.

I think they're super cute. Hollow, but lovely. Surprisingly robust.
