    Hey folks! :)

Saw this thing in a thrift shop and had to buy it even though I had no clue what it is used for. I think it's pretty.
Any information about this lovely piece would be very appreciated.
Width is approx. 16 cm (6.3 inches).
Not sure what the golden material is, but the middle parts should be porcelain I think.

    Have a lovely day,
    Erik

What are the scenes printed on? I've seen similar on padded fabric.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Very pretty. It seems rather small to hang on a wall, but maybe with a group of other hangings that seem to go together?

Backing velvet looks right for 1950s/1960s.

Just in case you don't know... These are inspired by the work of French Rococo artists, Fragonard in particular. If you use "Fragonard courting couple" as search words, lots of items with similars will come up with a Google Image search.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    From the sheen in the 1st & 2nd images, I'd say printed/painted on ceramic/porcelain??

    They're not hand painted.

Never hand painted that I've ever seen. I call them "fake Fragonards" in general and they were all over everything in the 50s. Any jewelery, bedroom accessory, boudoir accessory you can think of ... there they were.
