Featured Antique Watercolor J. Dowe

Found few other paintings online but no info about the artist. Can we at least figure the origin by the depicted scene?

 

The scene is Italy. Southern, I'd think from her costume.

I will. I suspect it’s full sheet but not oval.

That’s the only two other paintings that I found as well.

It is lovely kard.
I agree, situated in Italy. The costume with the folded headkerchief was worn as far north as Lazio (where Rome is). Maybe further north too, I'd have to check.

Sicily, most Sicilian headscarves are worn without the folded rectangle and with the ends hanging over the shoulders, or with the ends tied at the back of the neck, but I did find one.

Well, I was wrong, it was painted as oval.

 

It's very nice. Much more personal than the other examples of his work. And he's quite good with architecture.
