Before I get stuck in and chabby chic these drawers they aren't antique or special are they?

Went and had a look. Appears to be 1930s-50s chest with lift-top jewelry box. English? Missing bottom drawer? Not terribly valuable so paint away.

 

This is the only photo I could find in the gallery, is this it?

 

This is the front decorative rail on the top lid. It is about the only embellishment on what is, otherwise, a plain chest of drawers.
